About Monique
Monique is a certified breathwork facilitator with a deep passion for guiding individuals to connect back to themselves, to create mental clarity, reduce stress, bring you back to equilibrium and to bring forward the most true version of yourself. She also has a love for bodywork which mirrors similar principles to breathwork, in that unprocessed stress can create tension in the body, and that the body holds the wisdom and when we slow down to listen we can create lasting change.
Monique’s compassionate approach ensures that each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients, to create an experience in which you can be guided to tune into the wisdom of your body. Drawing from her own personal journey and years of experience with breathwork and bodywork, she integrates elements of body awareness, gentle touch and intuitive guidance into her practice. Sessions begin with enquiry around where you’re at, what you’d like to work on and what your challenges are, followed by an explanation of the process and what you can expect during the session. Here is where we begin working together to deepen your connection to the body.
Through Transformational Breathwork we take your body into sympathetic activation through specific styles of breath, so that unprocessed energy can speak to us through sensations, emotions, movements etc, so that the body is able to let go without the original reason of the unprocessed energy having to be re-lived or discussed in great detail.
At World Within Us we approach Breathwork with a trauma-informed lens, where we emphasise creating a grounded and expansive experience for the client, which they can integrate into their life to create lasting change through working with the nervous system. Everyone’s experience is different, and every experience within itself is different.
We incorporate different elements during the sessions to help create a deeper experience for you, which may include music, supportive touch, movement, scented oils and more.
Post Session Integration & Grounding
Transformational Breathwork is a very powerful modality, and it’s important that you take it very slow for the remainder of the day after your session. For the next 24-48-72 hours it’s important that you try to really take care of yourself, and prioritise being in environments and around people that you feel good around as much as possible. Staying hydrated, eating nourishing foods, getting out into nature, going for a walk, journalling, keeping warm, gentle stretching, meditating, getting a massage or speaking to a loved one that you feel safe with (if you feel to) are all encouraged. Hydrate and Nourish:

Light Meal: Have a light meal or snack a few hours before the session. Avoid heavy or rich foods that might make you feel sluggish.

Have a journal and pen nearby to jot down any insights or reflections immediately after the session.
